Part of the Battlefield District in the Old North State Council, Pack 316 currently
serves approximately 75 to 100 boys weekly with a full range of age appropriate
activities through its five ranks. The Tiger Den introduces and guides first year
Cub Scouts and their adult partners through games, activities and lessons specifically
designed for first graders. The second graders or 7 year olds, strive for the rank
of Wolf. As a Bear, the requirements for this rank become a little more challenging
for the third graders. Once a Webelos Scout, the fourth graders begin to experience
what it might be like in the Boy Scout Troop through even greater levels of
independence. And then the fifth grade Webelos II spend their last year as a
Cub Scout working towards the Arrow of Light Award and graduation into Troop 316.
Throughout all of this, Pack 316 continues to recruit and train parent volunteers to
serve with their sons as leaders within the Pack. Our council has one of the finest
training programs around and in conjunction with the Boy Scouts of America’s official
web site, www.bsa.org, we continually update information in order to provide the
highest quality and safest program for boys in this country.
We can look back at those who have come through Pack 316 as Cub Scouts in previous years
and see Doctors, Firemen, Highway Patrolmen, successful Businessmen, Ministers and many
others and truly know that the program, time, effort, and sacrifice that has been made on
their part has made a positive difference. Thank you for visiting our site and please encourage
your son to Go Scouting.
