I just want to take a moment to thank all the volunteers that have served this past year making sure that our program continues to be the best we can be. Tireless (and payless) hours are given to this pack by parents to insure that not only their child but that all the boys have the opportunity to participate fully. Also thanks to those businesses who support us with our service projects and outings, and to those in the public who donate time, materials and money to keep Pack 316 healthy, strong and having fun helping the Greensboro community.
Now that we have survived another year it is time to focus on the task at hand. We have several BIG events coming up. Scouting for Food (15,000lbs. goal) kicks off in February, the Blue and Gold Banquet (Scoutings Birthday bash) and our Webelos II advancement in March and the preplanning for our Fall Cub Family Campout. There are also several training sessions on the calendar. It's never too late to start in Scouts. Even if your child learns just one thing, it might be the one thing he needs to make a positive difference in someone's life. Every boy should have the chance to see if scouting is for him. A recent survey found that the reason that most boys gave for never coming to scouts was that they were never asked. So now is a great time to ask you son's friends and families about scouting and if you area visitor to our website, consider yourself and your son invited to our next meeting.
Yours in Scouting,
Tom Franklin,
